Between January and August 2025, Ghana recorded a staggering 9,626 road accidents involving 16,348 vehicles. These accidents claimed the lives of 1,937 people and left 10,957 others injured, highlighting a persistent road safety crisis in the country.
The figures reflect not just a tragic loss of life but also a pressing need for improved road safety measures, stricter enforcement of traffic regulations, and enhanced public awareness. With thousands of vehicles on the roads daily, the call for responsible driving and better infrastructure has never been more urgent.
Authorities and stakeholders must take decisive action to reverse this trend, protect lives, and ensure safer roads for all Ghanaians.
