A 38-year-old pastor named Wisdom Kwame Adu, known as Agya, is facing some serious allegations. He’s been granted bail at GHc150,000, but it comes with a hefty price: two sureties, and one of them has to prove ownership of landed property. Why all the fuss? Agya is accused of stealing from a friend who recently passed away.
The charges are pretty specific. We’re talking about a Range Rover, an ATM card, and a whopping GHc27,000. Apparently, Agya allegedly used the deceased’s ATM card to withdraw that cash over a couple of days in June. He’s pleaded not guilty, so this is just the beginning of what’s sure to be a complicated legal battle.
The case raises a lot of questions. How did the pastor allegedly gain access to the ATM card and vehicle? What was the nature of his relationship with the deceased? And, perhaps most importantly, what does this mean for his standing in the community and his congregation? It’s a tough situation all around, and it will be interesting to see how the legal proceedings unfold.
