The Western Central Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers linked to an attempted robbery at LongShine Mining Company in Obouhu, Prestea. Among those detained are 2 military officers. The suspects assaulted the company’s security guards and demanded access to the gold storage room.
Authorities say the suspects rented a Toyota pickup (registration GN6116-25) for the operation, which has now been seized by police. Two suspects remain at large, with efforts ongoing to apprehend them.
This incident underscores the challenges of securing mining sites and the ongoing fight against armed crime in the region.
