Former KAS Estate Cashier Accused of Stealing Over GH¢5.4 Million from Company MoMo Account

A 32-year-old former cashier of KAS Estate Ghana Limited, Ayisha Iddrisu, has been arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court for allegedly stealing over GH¢5.4 million from her employer’s MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) account.

Ayisha, who worked with the company for eight years, is accused of siphoning funds between September 2018 and July 2025. Suspicion arose when she refused to hand over the company’s MoMo phone during a planned staff transfer. Following a complaint by the company’s CEO, Yahyah Kassim Atta, Ayisha was arrested.

Investigations revealed that Ayisha allegedly made unauthorized transfers totaling GH¢72,220 to other MoMo accounts. She is also reported to have purchased two vehicles — a Toyota Yaris and a Toyota CH-R — the latter of which has been retrieved by police.

Three mobile phones were recovered during her arrest, including an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a MoMo balance of GH¢2.8 million and an iPhone 12 Pro Max with GH¢938,944. Police also found multiple bank accounts in her name across GCB Bank, Ecobank, and Fidelity Bank, believed to contain additional funds.

Ayisha has pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing, contrary to Section 124(1) of the Criminal Offences Act 29. Presiding judge Her Honour Susana Eduful has remanded her into custody pending further investigations. The case has been adjourned to August 27, 2025.
