Extradition of Former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe Over GH¢8.1 Million Financial Crimes at Advanced Stage – AG Ayine

The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Ayine, has revealed that the extradition of former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe, sentenced to 10 years in prison, is at an advanced stage. Tamakloe was tried in absentia in April 2024 for a series of financial crimes during her tenure at MASLOC.

She faces accusations including:

Embezzling GH¢3.19 million Causing deliberate financial losses of GH¢1.97 million Appropriating GH¢500,000 for personal use Withdrawing GH¢1,816,000 for a sensitization program but spending only GH¢1,300 Spending GH¢579,800 out of GH¢1,465,035 meant for victims of the 2013 Kantamanto Market fire Procuring vehicles and mobile phones at inflated costs Authorizing ex-gratia payments of GH¢135,592.33 for herself and GH¢82,218.76 for her deputy

Dr. Ayine expressed optimism that Sedina Tamakloe will soon be brought back to Ghana to serve her sentence, underscoring the government’s commitment to accountability and the fight against financial mismanagement.
