Elon Musk is once again the world’s richest person, after briefly losing the top spot to Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison.
Ellison’s net worth soared to $393 billion on Wednesday morning, thanks to a 40% surge in Oracle’s stock, driven by optimism around its cloud and AI ventures. This temporarily pushed him ahead of Musk, whose fortune stood at $385 billion.
However, as Oracle’s shares gave up some of those gains by the end of the day, Musk moved back into the lead—reclaiming his position at the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
The momentary shake-up underscores how quickly market shifts can influence the world’s wealth rankings.
