A suspected armed robber was shot and killed by police in Donkorkrom on Monday night during a fierce exchange of gunfire. The incident occurred after police received intelligence about a planned robbery targeting travelers in the area.

Acting swiftly, officers set up an ambush along a known route. Around midnight, two motorbikes carrying armed men approached the location. According to police, the suspects opened fire upon spotting the officers, prompting a return of fire.

One of the suspects, believed to be about 20 years old, was fatally shot during the exchange. The others managed to flee into the bush, and a manhunt is currently underway to apprehend them.

Police have assured the public of increased patrols and security in the area to prevent further attacks.
