A Magistrate Court in Lagos has ordered a DNA test to be conducted on Master Liam Aloba, the son of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, following a paternity suit filed by the deceased’s father, Joseph Aloba.
Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga issued the directive after hearing an application filed under the Family Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) 2012 and the Magistrate Courts (Civil Procedure) Rules 2009. The respondent in the case is Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, Mohbad’s widow and mother of the child.
The court ordered that tissue, hair, or any suitable sample from the deceased’s remains—currently at Military Hospital Yaba—be extracted by an authorized medical officer for the purpose of the DNA test. The test is to be carried out at a recognised and accredited medical facility, either within Nigeria or abroad.
This legal move marks a new chapter in the ongoing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and family matters.
