A wave of shock and sorrow has hit the Binduri community following the killing of Kadi Divisional Chief, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, on Tuesday night, July 22, 2025.
According to eyewitnesses, two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorbike around 8:40 p.m. at the chief’s residence near the Asawase F-Line Community Centre. One of them, armed with an AK-47, opened fire on the chief before fleeing with his accomplice.
Chief Azenbe, who had only been enskinned as Kadi Naaba three months ago, was rushed to Manhyia District Hospital and later referred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, visited the grieving family and pledged a full investigation. Police have since increased security in the area and are appealing for public assistance in identifying the assailants.
The Kusasi community is devastated. A promising leader has been lost, and the call for justice is loud and urgent.
