An American Airlines flight from Philadelphia to Phoenix made an emergency landing at Washington-Dulles on Saturday after smoke was reported from a passenger’s device. Flight 357, carrying 160 passengers and six crew members, landed safely and was met by emergency personnel, as per standard procedure.
Crew members quickly contained the device, and all passengers deplaned normally. No injuries or arrests were reported. The cause of the smoking device remains unclear.
American Airlines thanked their crew for their professionalism and confirmed efforts are underway to get passengers to their final destination. Airport officials noted there were no disruptions to other flight operations at Dulles.
