Nurses protesting in Accra over months of unpaid salaries are sounding the alarm on the critical toll it’s taking on their lives and profession.
One nurse summed up the frustration, saying: “A hungry nurse is a potential killer. Pay us now — enough is enough!”
Many of the nurses say they are struggling to afford basic needs, despite working full-time in hospitals across the country. The protestors are calling on the government to urgently address the delays in salary and National Service allowance payments, warning that the situation is affecting not just their well-being, but patient care as well.
