60 Private Schools included in Free SHS Policy – Full List

In a groundbreaking move, the Government of Ghana has expanded the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy to include 60 private schools—a major step since the policy’s launch under President Akufo-Addo.

This new development aims to ease congestion in public SHSs and offer more students access to quality education, regardless of whether they attend public or private institutions.

The Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) has praised the initiative, calling it a significant leap toward inclusive and equitable education for all.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to verify the list of approved private SHSs through the official channels of the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service (GES), or GNACOPS.
